**Confession thread**
#1901
I was searching for this Confessions thread yesterday, because I have a confession...I de-flipped and un-slammed my stem. Yes, the shame of it all...I think I flipped it about a year ago and loved it while it lasted but, alas, my bad back caught up to me and just about every long ride this year my back was extremely tight when done and I've been going into spasms lately so screw the aesthetics, I'd rather be able to ride long and often than to look cool. So back to Fredland for me.

When I first got a set of Speedplay Frogs back in 07 I too went to the park on a grassy area (after watching a You Tube video) thinking I was going to fall, even put the pedals on a beat up MTB so I wouldn't damage the new bike when I fell. Those pedals were the easiest to get into and out of then I had ever thought they would be like. I have yet to fall due to not being able to get out of them and that's after using toe clips for 35 years!

After getting Gatorskins I've gotten like 1 flat in 3,000 miles, but I had gotten so many before that that I keep 2 CO2 cartridges, a spare tire, a patch kit, and a mini-pump with me at all times. I could be fixing every person with a flat that I ride by on the road. Maybe I should start doing that and charging, make some spare cash

- Every pair of trousers I own has black grease stains at the right ankle because i cant be bothered to roll the leg up or wear trouser clips
- I try and trackstand at every possible opportunity and frequently loose balance
- I keep snapping plastic gear levers on campag brakes
- I sometimes forget to carry a lock, a few times I have left my road bike parked outside a supermarket unsecured
- I will happily slow traffic down by riding in the center or outside of the lane if I think the road has potholes, puddles, patches of detritus, or an uneven surface that could disrupt my rhythm
- I almost definitely pronounce Cervelo incorrectly
- Last week i went past a cyclist with a mechanical problem at the side of the road & I didn't stop to see if I could help
- I wash my bikes about once every 3 years
- I have a favourite pair of cycling socks which I rarely wear because I don't want them to wear out
- My approach to replacing bike components is usually to buy whatever seems like a good deal, whether its compatible is secondary
- I think I am almost as good as the pro cyclists I see on TV, just marginally slower
- I have spokey dokes on one of my road bikes
- I think cycling above 20/25mph is dangerous
- I ride with clipless pedals but i just wear normal trainers
- I spent a few minutes thinking about how much weight I could save if I shaved my beard
- I have never climbed above around 500 feet above sea level
- I use my drops so rarely i could save money on handlebar tape by only wrapping the top of the handlebar
- I edited this post several times to correct spelling, add bulletpoints, and line up each sentence

Guy above has a few issues!
only kidding!
my confession is I ran a red light into oncoming traffic, not my fult though! brakes weren't working.
oh and if I have no one to ride wit I find it very easy to find a reason not to go out.
I feel very annoyed with people who ride on pavements and want to kixck them off there bikes (kids excluded there allowed on pavements I'm talking about adults only), I refuse to do it unless its a marked bike lane / mup / road is too dangours.
I sometimes don't wear my helmet if only going into town.

so I guess I shop like a women! I go in and don't look at all the specs first I go for what catches my eye then if the specs meet I'd buy it, but I won't buy it no matter how good it ois if it doesn't look good to me first! lol.
