Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Seriously?

Nothing that tastes sweet in the store because it will be too sweet on the bike.

I couldn't think of anything witty.

When my perfect chain finally craps out on me I will post a photo of it here, for all to see just how good WD 40 is. And you will all be converts, and there will be a thread that someone will start, it may even be you, apologizing for having doubted. Someday. Really. It will happen.

That was my 5000th post.

I was saving it for something special - I was going to make a big deal of it. Instead I threw it away on nothing and I'll never get it back.

I feel so...so...cheated.

Delete a few of the other useless ones (there are probably a few in this thread).

Then post a few up to 4999, and make your special 5000th.

That way you get it back, and you won't feel so cheated.

What's your problem? I'm in the Aframe of A-Basin right now looking out at a 94 inch base to ski and I can still make the time to read this woman's apology. Take the time for her dammit.

The Chinese have a saying which seems to apply here:

"It's like playing piano for the cows."

If the first step is accepting and acknowledging that you're are a prick, what is the second step?

Isn't that like step 8 or 9? IIRC the 12 step Prick Program goes something like this:

1. Accept that you are a prick.

2. Accept that you are a prick by nature (DNA) and that there is nothing you can do about it.

3. Make the decision to turn yourself over to the forces of a higher power (in most cases this is easy since you are already married to her).

4. Take a good look at yourself and see if you are also an a-hole or a ******bag

5. Admit to your wife that you know you are a prick and exactly when you've been a prick.

6. Become ready to do what your wife tells you to do.

7. Ask you wife to tell you what to do and when to do it

8. Make a list of all those you have been a prick to.

9. Make amends unless it would piss them off further.

10. Keep your a-holeness and ******baggery in check and nip it in the bud when ever you are either.

11. Hope and pray that gene therepy is developed soon and that you can afford treatment.

12. After realizing that you are a prick by nature try to help other pricks around you.

Not that I would know anything about that...

Sober and I had a great day taking my son on our first hiking adventure.

I'm starting to wonder if the humourous intent of my post missed the mark a bit as some people seem to be taking it a bit too seriously.

So, before the wife packed off for Poland you got such a thorough going over that you couldn't look at another woman without thinking of the weight she offloaded on you. The full brunt of this came to bear over a couple hours of unencumbered living with friends who would have torn you to pieces for dragging them into your emotional disparities. Leading to you emoting your ability to shake off her harsh words in an attempt at self affirmation.

Such goes the eternal struggle not to be "that guy."

The basic problem with the internet, hidden meanings or vibes just don't quite get there.
