I'm informing the FDA that pcad is prescribing without being licensed.

Sweet.

I ride with some tri geeks. Instead of renting Zipps on race day, which she usually does, one of them just picked up some psimet 50mm carbon clinchers. Rob got them done in time for Boise next weekend.

Nice. I got a ridiculously good deal on the 808s, but the trade-off was a longer wait. Good news is they should be here in time for my next TT.

coasting 06-03-11 09:43 AM

hey dr pete

how comes you had to go to med school for years, racking up huge student debts, for the priviledge of giving medical advice and dr pcad thinks he can do so willy nilly over the internet to strangers whose pulse he hasn't even had the decency to measure.

K&K_Dad 06-03-11 10:49 AM

I don't have as many years in school as DrPete and I get to give medical advice.
But then again he rides a cervelo with carbon while I'm stuck on a trek. FML.

Not to drag this thread any further into the pit, but....
On my commute home tonight I realized something. This is the stupidest thing I've ever posted here. Maybe the stupidest BF post of all time.
While tossing a childish attack on Dr. Pete, I also insulted a good number of respected members here on BF.
And at the same time a good number of people who support me in my job, most of whom possess more intelligence and are better looking than me, who graduated into a s&^tty work environment where they worked hard to earn their degree and are stuck working at just above a living wage with no health care or any other benefits.
This for a company that made $2B in profit last quarter.

I guess this is MY BobDop appology thread.
Mea culpa.
carry on....

Velo Gator 06-03-11 07:22 PM

This thread turned out weird.

K&K_Dad 06-03-11 07:32 PM

O K ?
^^^ I agree. weird.

yah, weird.
I'm shutting it down now because I just poured myself a glass of wine, and there might be a few to follow.

There's nothing wrong with introspection. It's good for the soul.

Velo Vol 06-03-11 09:46 PM

Back to the topic, my joints would give me more problems if I didn't cycling. I feel them more if I go two or three days without exercise. I'd hate to be sidelined for a week.

There's also the psychological benefits. You think I'm unwell now, imagine how much more disturbed I would be without cyclotherapy.

By the way, i suspect a lot of roadies are doctors. old, rich and trying to undo the damage of years of high living.

patentcad 06-04-11 06:04 AM

I have severe pain in my upper right abdomen. Last time this happened they thought it was gallstones. They ultrasounded me, and it was negative. So they put me on acid reflux meds and I got better in two days. That's actual medication. I'm talking Prilosec, let's hope this does the trick, because if I'm not better by Monday, it's off to the doctor.

coasting 06-04-11 06:08 AM

i suggest you go ride. it cures all.

i have no medical training.

patentcad 06-04-11 06:30 AM

I'm in too much pain to ride. Or sleep.

patentcad 06-04-11 06:31 AM

On the other hand five years ago I started taking the acid reflux meds on a Thursday and by Saturday AM I felt so much better I was able to compete in a 5.5 mile hill climb TT.

Are you out of your mind. You really think I had time for high living.

did you win?

oh wait. look who i'm asking.

coasting 06-04-11 06:40 AM

Hey surgeon, what kind of surgeon are you? Studying medicin was out of the question for me. i can't stand the sight of blood.

surgeonstone 06-04-11 06:47 AM

I was a General Surgeon as well as Bariatric surgeon for the last 20 years. This past year I retired from surgery and now focus on wound care, it's wonderful, no call, no weekends, no meetings- I actually get to enjoy life and family and whats more, my cycling has increased 500%.

No but that time is still my personal best on that course. 26:40 or so. Winning time in the 45+ was 22 something. Whatever. It would take you 40 minutes on a good day.
