Hey I'm fixing up an old bike and I am putting some aero levers on there. My question is that I am trying to decide between 2 I have and I'm not sure which to use since this will be my main bike. Currently I'm riding with a pair of old Dura Ace Bl-7402 levers. These are great but when I bought them I think the previous owner had put a mismatched hood on them and they don't fit on perfectly. That is my main gripe with these. The other choice is a Shimano SLR BL-L331 lever that I just got a few days ago. I haven't been able to ride these out yet but they feel great and are in pretty good condition. The one I don't use will be put on a bike I am about to sell in a week or so, and I don't want to part with the wrong pair! I've attached pictures of both. My questions is:
1. Are Dura Ace really a lot better than regular Shimano?
2. Would I be able to find hoods for the Dura Ace levers?
3. Which one would give me the best function in the long run. I want to put these on and never change them hopefully.

1. The Dura Ace levers will be lighter. And if the other Shimano ones are far enough down the hierarchy; the Dura Ace internals might well be advanced.
2. Will the hoods from the other Shimano levers fit the Dura Ace ones? I think they might.
3. Whichever levers are in the best condition after 'all this time'.

Those are not "aero" brake levers but just typical brifters.
You can call them "aero" if you like but they will just remain normal brifters.
I've got the Tektro RX5.0's ... which are aero brake levers for TT-bikes and the likes.

Sorry, but those are aero levers. Aero referring to the cabling being routed on the inside.

They're not brifters...

You are pretty much working with vintage parts so pick the ones that are in the best condition. The ones with the least amount of play in the pivots and don't rattle as much.
