Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The GT with Apex is probably the best deal you can get on a good sub 1k road bike right now.

How is that not name brand? Give us a little more info than "deal" and "Apex" then.

I almost went there when I bought mine, but decided I didn't wanna pop the extra coin for a few grams of weight, given my goals/needs...

save the 200. those grams arent gonna make a significant difference. i say use that 200 for speedplays and shoes, or something else (i.e., tires, gear, etc.)

Save the 200 bucks and use it plus your team performance credit for some shimano spd's, shoes, saddle bag, tubes, multi-tool, etc.
