You don't say anything about suffering on the bike. Did your recent illness leave you wimpy?

Fat, weak, out of shape, a combination of letting my health and lifestyle slide as a I worked my ass off over the past six months and then got sick. Suffering? I've been suffering on the bike for weeks. The TT ride yesterday? That was more fun than suffering. I once told this guy Earl (local Brooklyn NY racer dude) that I thought racing was hard. His comeback has stayed with me lo these 15+ years.

If you do it right, that's how it should be. So I've been suffering on the bike quite a bit lately, but it seems to have paid off a little after several weeks. That's nice.

My wife hasn't been on a bicycle in years. Your reading comprehension is even worse than your questionable taste in motorcycles.

Actual TT bikes are pretty fast. When I compare my times on the TT bike to guys who are clearly faster than me in TT's where they are in the 'Cannibal' division (regular road bikes on the same course) I routinely beat guys who I KNOW are faster than I am. I think the TT bike gives you 1.5-2 mph on most course profiles. I think my time on that same course yesterday would be 21-21.5 mph tops on a regular road bicycle.

I do covet your bikes a little, but I am stranded in the desert with no bike at the moment.

You would crash if you attempted the technical demands of my Fred TT course riding a TT bike.

Does your estimate apply to all road profiles? I have yet seen any1 on a TT/Tri bike go up a cat3 or steeper climb.

He consistently finishes 1st or 2nd in any TT in NJ he participates in. K. Lundgren (another pal of mine) is the current TT champ. Ken is a Cat 2, I do think Dave is a 1, although he may also be a Cat 2.
