Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cavendish + McLaren Venge?

Looks to me like Cavendish has been riding a McLaren Venge the past couple stages of the Tour. Is he the only one riding one?

Goss won Milan-San Reno on one, so I'd imagine at least he is.

Google would help you.
McLaren F1 is a car.
McLaren is an automotive manufacturer.

Actually,
Vodafone McLaren Mercedes is a Formula One team.
The MP4-26 is a Formula One race car.
McLaren Automotive is an automotive company who makes road cars.
All of these (as well as McLaren Electronic Systems and McLaren Applied Technologies) are under the umbrella of McLaren Group.

(didn't have to Google)

The relationship is, to my understanding, that Specialized made a super aero Venge. They handed it over to McLaren, who used F1 technology in the frame to reduce the weight by 15% and give it 15% more stiffness. At least that's what Wired told me...

Yeah, supposedly McLaren applied some of their fancy CF expertise to the bike frame. Seriously, this kind of input could result in some interesting improvements in technology that could trickle down into more affordable bikes.

My binoculars are tough to focus on the peloton even when using a 50" plaz with HD. (seriously, how can we possible answer the question of who is riding what? Am I missing something?)
