Thats pretty cool and all, but it sounds like it is louder than a mag trainer. I like to be able to hear myself think while I'm riding.

I applaud the effort, but you can get a decent set of rollers for ~$100. You could spend your time and effort adding free motion and resistance to those and that would really be worth it. It would be really hard to match the smoothness of machined aluminum rollers with PVC and wood.

For the record, I neither wrote that tutorial nor built a set of DIY rollers. Just thought it was kinda neat....
