How loud are rollers?
Bad idea in an apartment? The walls aren't paper thin here, I haven't heard a peep from any of my neighbors in the 8 months I've lived here. I'm on the top floor... and I don't want to buy rollers and start riding in my living room if my downstairs neighbor is going to stab me.

Aluminum drums, slick tires, pretty quiet compared to a trainer, IMO. However that may not be quiet enough! Rollers on a piece of 3/4" plywood on a mattress? My radio entertainment is louder than my rollers, but the roller vibration might come through the ceiling more. Borrow a set?

buy a set of rollers from someplace with a good return policy and ask your neighbors what they think. You should probably ask them after you've tried them out so they're not actively listening for it
