Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My new ride

Got my new bike delivered on Thursday and I am so please.

https://www.wiggle.co.uk/focus-cayo-105-ltd-2011/

A full carbon frame with 105 / FSA components which were very responsive and snappy. It seemed to zip along the roads like I was flying.

If anybody is interested in buying one Wiggle have them reduced to £999 and until the end of the month they have 20% reduced off the full price (and other bikes by using code TOUR20) so I bought this bike for £880 for a FULL CARBON frame.

It was reviewed in UK magazine Cycling Active a few months ago and got 95%

In some of the reviews there is some critism regarding the finish of the frame. To me it looks like there is a sheen on the paintwork which doesn't quite look right. I can easily overlook this when I remember how much I paid and how much of a good ride it is but it might not appeal to all.

It is an entry level bike at an entry level price. Nothing exciting about it to deserve a whole new thread to be started for.

You mean other than the guy got a new bike that he is proud of and has tried to inform others of the deal going on with it right now? Who pissed in your wheaties?

Any new bike that a member is proud of is worthy of a new thread. I don't give a damn if it is a $600 bike or a $12,000 bike.

Out fishing with Annie on his lap, a cigar in one hand and a ginger ale in the other, watching the sunset.

Enjoy the beast, and put lot's o' miles on it. Wear it out and buy a new one again.

Nice and good looking. I Like the fork and the design in the chain ring.

Thanks all for your comments (well mostly).

These days, like most no doubt, I need to buy things on a budget and I thought this was a great looking bike with a good spec and reviews for a fantastic price so couldn't resist.
