Wasn't sure I was gonna like the blue on the bike but I think Orbea knew what they were doing. It does cleverly add pizazz especially when comparing to their old models. The carbon layup is pretty nice too.

They are giant branded joytech hubs laced to rigida rims using a composite spoke. They were OEM on the original giant tcr road bike. They are heavy and dull but the price was right and they look pefect for the build. The bike was built for fun anyway.

I love this, but I would love it more with straight black bar tape, a full black stem, a black saddle and SRAM Red Black or something like it. With that frame, those wheels and the yellow Mavic stickers, the tape, stem bars and group feel like a missed opportunity.

I always figure this was the bike that is meant to be on this thread. A BLACK bike, not a black frame with all sorts of colored logos on it, etc. Which is not to say that those others aren't nice looking. But this is BLACK. Swwwweeeeettttt.
I still really want you to change out those brakes though.

Here's my "new" (C&V) black bike:
A 1986 Alan Carbonio Super Record I just finished building up.
Here it is with my other black bike:
The one on the left, A 1985 Vitus Plus Carbone 7 which I finished building up early last year
Here's a 3rd black bike I'm still working on:
A 1972 Line Seeker CF race bike. Precursor/Prototype(?) to the Exxon Graftek which came out later in around 1975.
Oh, I almost forgot my 1984 Peugeot PSV.....
Had it since new, first race bike I ever bought, so it's a sentimental favorite......
I think it's really like dark metallic charcoal grey, but everyone who sees it calls it a black bike......

This is basically stock from BD. $300 including the saddle, bars, and grip tape. I am very pleased. I briefly considered painting all of the bolts and bits black, but that would be too much work, and make me look superficial.

This is a better picture and you can see the ghost logos better and is more represation of what it looks like to human eye.
