Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Garmin 705 ANT+ pairing problem

I have posted this on the Garmin forums as well, i'm wondering if anyone here might have an answer.

(My 705's GPS wasn't working. Garmin initially said it would cost me $110 to fix. I bought a 500, then i called Garmin again just for the hell of it, and suddenly they said they'd replace it. If the new 705 works i'll return the 500)

Garmin replaced my previously-broken Edge 705 with a new (i assume refurb) one.
While it was out for repair, I had paired my Quarq and HRM with an Edge 500.

The new 705 arrived and will not recognize the HRM or the Quarq.

I have tried reinstalling firmware (the latest), hard and soft resetting, going through all the 705's settings, leaving the batteries out of the HRM and Quarq, etc, etc. Went through the pairing troubleshooting on Quarq's site. Nothing works.

If i turn on the 500, both the HRM and the Quarq are recognized right away.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I would give a call to Garmin support....sounds like the "new" 705 is bad too.

I was riding with mine this weekend and ran into an odd issue...in 17 min I rode 4555.2 miles. I mean I know I'm fast but that's pushing it.

Ok I'm not even fast...but what the hell happened in those 17 min? And why the heck didn't Training Center or Garmin Connect correct the bad data on import? They had the course plots but they went with the bad milage brought in with the speed/cadence sensor? Dumb. Oh and my wife riding right with me did not see the same issue in her 500 data.
