Black knee

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Am I the only one or does anyone else get it and is there a cure?

...and you know that your boss can't really force you to do that, right? You may want to speak to a lawyer

my knees are four shades darker than the rest of my leg. looks like someone dipped me in paint up to about 3 inches above my knee. My family think it is the funniest thing they have ever seen

Unless your knee is like this you don't have a major issue

https://youtu.be/TVbqKOYBh5I Try a higher SPF or sunblock with zinc.
