This isn't a "what's your favourite" or "What should I get" poll, just a curiosity thing. It seems like the compnents on the lower end of the spectrum just aren't as popular. Let's hear what you've got. If it's a mix, select what the main group is.
Dura Ace myself. Cole BTW- this is for ALL your bikes. Vote as many times as you have bikes with different components. edit -- Okay, nevermind. Looks like you can't vote more than once. Vote for the one you have on the bike you love the most. |
Well both of my current bikes are full Tiagra (well the flat bar has the R440 shifters) but I just got off the phone placing an order for a full Ultegra build kit. I did vote Tiagra though as I don't HAVE the Ultegra stuff yet. :D

I'm gonna modify the qualifications. Just for you, ol' buddy! Cole |
I have 105... and the greatest thing is that I'm happy with it. I don't need to spend 600 for an ultegra kit. Not wanting to spend money on a bike is the greatest feeling.

Full Ultegra on a Windsor Kennet
|
full ultegra 9sp, 04' on the talon, butter'd silk smooth, quiet and seemingly durable enough, ive never had ghost shifts, or a prob when shiftin while hammering on the peds either, altho im not at peak power yet, still new and tryin to find time to ride in this cold weather.....oh the peds are speedplay zeros, also wonderful, cheepest computer money could buy at the time....and a set of f-16 aero's to achieve max-speeds.... what next... i was thinking new stem/bars.. mine seem abit narrow, but i'd like to go to LBS for a "pro" opnion or experianced fitter in NH area, if you know one i'll pay a little bit for fitting perhaps a case of beer?.... sorry for the shameless question (oh velomax circuit wheels too)
|
Since we can only vote for 1, do we just vote for the snazziest gruppo we have?
My new KG486 is adorned with Record, the finest that can be had if $ isn't a problem. My Volpe has 105 on it, bar none, the best value group (including Ultegra). |
A real mixed bag, but voted Ultegra.
Ultegra shifters, brakes, fd Dura ace rd SRAM chain and cassette FSA cranks |
Chorus on my daily rider,
Nuovo Record on one Trek Super Record on the other Wife's bikes: Veloce/Mirage mix Gran Sport with Tipo hubs. A campy family all in all. |
well, I have an ultegra cassette, 105 derailluers and crank, sram chain, and dura ace shifters. I voted ultegra, becuase i figure the dura ace cancels out the 105...
|
~ Record on my Merckx Team SC that is en route and should be here tomorrow.
~ Chorus on my Colnago that I am riding now. ~ Mix of Dura-Ace and Ultegra on my cross bike. |
i have a mix of ultegra and fsa parts... which works quite well for me.
|
C-dale R800 '04 - mainly ultegra now, still has 105 shifters and f/d
Specialized E-5 - Full chorus Bianchi Piaggio - Full nuevo Record Edit: I voted other. |

Have two bikes the newest full ultegra 9spd triple and my first bike full sora double.
Dreaming of Dura Ace 10 for the ultimate bike... when that will happen don't know. |
Full Dura-Ace, 9-Speed
Love it. |
Sora :(  :(
hopefully changing to tiagra or 105. |
My motobecane is a mix of 105, ultegra cassette and a truvativ elita crankset. Shifting is pretty smooth, and the cranks are strong like a rock.
My trek 1100 is a freakshow, suntour Edge 4050 components with a shimano IG70 casette, shimano 105 53t chainring, sugino 46t chainring, and hte stock on the small ring. Oh, and Sora hubs. The crankset has custom spacing as well, good thing the front shifter is friction. For my mountain bike (off topic but oh well) it's DeoreLX with an XT rear deraileur and casette, and a truvativ stylo crankset. And WTB hubs. |

Shimano's top shelf goodies for 05, I love them. Fairly light, too. Currently looking to make a mad dash for low cash 7800 FD. That's all the 7800 stuff I'll want (for now!) :p |
Record on my road bike. Mixture of Tiagra and 105 on my commuter (flat-bar road bike).
|
Centaur, Nuovo Record, early Shimano 600(ultegra), SunTour Suberb, Cyclone & VGt, Mavic, Simplex, Stronglight. Plus some other cheap stuff on my rain bikes.
