Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is this frame smaller than my current?

I currently have a BD dawes bike which is using the Fuji Newest frame, 50CM, size medium

https://2009.fujibikes.com/Road/Sport/Newest30.aspx

I'm thinking of buying a GT series 1 frame, but the size is 54.

https://www.gtbicycles.com/bikes/road...s-1-blue-black

It seems like the frame is smaller in some areas and larger in others. I'm thinking my Fuji is just a little too big for me -- ideas?

I find the more useful measurement is the top tube length. For the Fuji (50cm), the top tube is 54.5cm...for the GT, the top tube is 55.01. So basically about the same. If you think your Fuji is too big from a reach perspective, then the GT will also be too big...if your Fuji is too big from a standover height perspective but the reach is fine, then the GT might feel fine.

Well the GT is 1/2 cm longer, if that is what u cant figure it out. Besides both bikes are totally different, u can compare them IMO.

Good luck.

Will the GT be more aggressive?

My current frame "fits"

Its not bad by any means, I just am using an 80mm stem. For $100 for the frame, I've been considering it.

One is a sight seen bike and the other is a road bike. Yes the GT is more aggressive and probably more comfortable than the old one in long rides if fitted right good luck
