Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Looking to go old school

I've been wanting to buy an older bike and I've come across a 1984 Celo Europa world champion. a little bit of googling and I come across a lot of colnago references...any idea what the deal was with these bikes? Is it a good deal at 3-400 bucks?

thanks guys

a little more https://www.bikeforums.net/archive/in.../t-739309.html

quote from that thread:

this is from Sheldon Brown

Celo Europa

A house brand of Marcel Celborn, these are probably either Colnagos or built by a builder that builds some of the Colnago models. The examples we have seen are very tidy - certainly at least as good as a typical Colnago (https://www.sheldonbrown.com/vrbn-a-f.html#colnago) or Olmo (https://www.sheldonbrown.com/vrbn-o-z.html#olmo). For a guideline condition (https://www.sheldonbrown.com/vrbn-a-f.html#guideline) road bike figure about$700.

You could try Classic & Vintage, along with better pictures (frame closeups ie head lugs, BB, fork crown) & details (components ...).
