Non-integrated forks.
Hi,
I have a Litespeed Archon, 1 1/8" Chris King headset, currently paired with a Reynolds Ouzo Pro Tri Fork, 43mm rake.
Is anyone still making non-integrated forks that would be a good replacement for my Reynolds? I know that some integrated forks can be installed, but would they have a gap between the fork crown area and the lower part of the headset/headtube?
Been trying to track down other alternatives aside from used Ouzo Pros on Ebay. I see a lot of pics with Easton forks...any issues? Perfect fit?
Any suggestions would be welcome.

Thanks for the suggestion. I noticed that many forks, including Ritchey, seemed to be for integrated headsets. So what would I need to to get it to fit properly with non-integrated headsets? Do the fork manufacturers offer the crown race for this set up?
I'm obviously a bit ignorant on this matter, so anyone who can school me quickly will be greatly appreciated.

The race, base plate, etc comes with the headset.
The only difference between a fork for integrated vs not integrated headset is the diameter of the fork at the headset. It's mostly for looks... it would look funny to have the fork neck down to a smaller diameter than the head tube.

Thanks! But I'm sure I don't have the race/base plate for the headset. Would the LBS have that part? Something that is generic per se?

Normally you would take it off the old fork with a crown race removal tool. If the headset is new, it should have a crown race. Is the crown race built into the current fork? I haven't done a lot with integrated headsets other than re-lube them.

Yes, the current fork has a crown race...I think it does...metal looking thing between the bottom of the headset and the top of the fork. So that's removable and can be done at the LBS? Then fit it over another fork that doesn't have one? That simple?

That race can then be installed onto another fork, using another tool, for use on your bike. The only things you really need to worry about are the steertube diameter and rake.
Based on your previous comments, find a fork with 1 1/8 inch steer tube and 43mm rake. Any brand will do.

I have two non-integrated frames, run a regular fork (Reynolds Ouzo and a 3T something). I got a black headset with the 3T one to make things less obvious. It's not perfect but it's good enough for me.
