Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

High fiber, a grazing eating style and not getting calories from liquids are the most pain free ways to dump weight.

The stand is on the NDS, you just can't see it.

And my basement training room has carpet and a couch, does yours?

His research makes sense if you actually know how many calories is 250 less than maintenance. Which unfortunately I do not. In fact I don't know how to eat enough calories to enjoy my rides and runs and get from 205 to my 190 goal. Getting here from 240 was the easy part it seems.

In fairness to Cannondale, the Cervelo simply fits me better, plus it's all CF, I never tried a more appropriately sized newer all CF Slice model. Plus whatever you think of Di2, it confers considerable advantage on a TT bike because it's SO much easier to shift gears AND you can shift from the cowhorns, which really makes a huge difference in how much easier it is to ride the bike for several reasons. I was watching the world TT championships yesterday (women and under 23 men) and there did seem to be an awful lot of Di2 TT bikes being raced.

I'm SURE Sram has to have an electronic group in development, I don't care what they say. THAT will be interesting. An electronic Red FD would work. They would of course have to pay a licensing fee to Shimano (who I'm sure has half the crap you need to get that to work right all patented) but that's no different from any other business. Hell, Toyota has half the hybrid technology patented, I'm sure they get licensing fees from the other car makers for their hybrids.

We're increasingly reliant on microprocessors. I read an article recently that said a Chevy Volt has more microchips in it than a commercial airliner, I'm sure a Prius can't be too much different, and there are micro chips running an electronic bicycle shifting set up too. When that front derailleur on Di2 automatically adjusts itself (you just hear the servo motor whirring and *poof* the instant of chain rub you experienced disappears) it reminds me of the Toyota Prius seamlessly transitioning between its electric and 1.8 liter gas motors.

Is he talking fat headed or fat bodied? I unintentionally lost 25 of the 170 lbs I was carrying since mid May and am 6', but I am pretty fat headed about things? so pcad is once again blowing hot air based on a silly internet article to appease his monstrous ego....all eight or nine of them.

I go to the homeowner's meeting and a couple of my neighbors remark on how thin I look. I come to BF (the 41, not even the 33) and I feel like the fattest guy here. And maybe I am.

And that's why I love this stupid sport.

You are all idiots by the way.

Honestly, just keep on keepin' on. Don't try to cut more calories, just do the same that got you to this point. When I lost 70 lb. on South Beach Diet in 2005, I plateaued out three or four times. I stuck with it and eventually the weight started to come off again. I think there are points where your body feels like it needs to consolidate before it decides to continue into further weight loss.

And that's as much as I'll offer. Any more and this thread will get moved to The 248.

If you want to lose weight, eat less and work your ass off. I've lost 33 pounds since December doing that. It's pretty simple really.

^^^Agreed. Biggest Loser premiered last night. I like the show because it shows you in plain, simple terms that you don't need gastric bypass or fancy diets to achieve your goals. You need to work your ass off.

End of story.

we don't allow TT bikes on our group rides in the house. those things can't steer well enough, and most of 'em are triatheletes anyway.

I've gone from 292 to unknown back to 270 and am currently stuck between 255-265. I feel your pain. I'm on a modified paleo diet, modified in the sense that my birthday is this month, my wife's is next month, and 2 younger sons is next month....o yea, Halloween....and then Thanksgiving and then Christmas....I hate this time of year.

reduce the amount of bread, rice, pasta you eat to like once a week or something and eat 3x as much beans, salad, etc...
