Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Microshift

Anyone have one of their groupsets and have some feed back? I'm thinking of getting some for a project...

Looks like my Forte 10 spd set

I bought the Forte group from performance bike
almost 2 years ago. They look like the same shifters.
They have worked great. I just bought a new bike and
put these Forte shifters on my wife's bike. They still
work like new.

I've got the Centos shifters and rear derailleur on the bike I just built up and so far it has worked great no complaints. I honestly bought it as a possible temporary solution until I found a deal on some Ultegra shifters or something like that but honestly feel no need to replace them.

They're actually going to be replacing some Ultegra 6600 stuff. I like the perty colors. They have a red/black group that looks really slick.

The day microshift came up with:

Electronic shimano/campangolo switched drive train they will become super well known

Or...

Or they come up with a campagnolo compatible and maybe more reliable than campy but cheap, they will make themselves even more famous.

I've just replaced the 10 speed MS shifters on my Felt F85 with Shimano 105 5700. The main issues I had were that they were quite noisy in operation and the front shifter had far too much throw shifting to the big ring. I also found that the trim function in the big ring moved the mech a bit too much so there'd be rubbing with and without trim. Otherwise they were comfortable and shifting was crisp and very usuable. Perhaps they work better with MS mechs? The 5700 shifters are much more subtle and smooth by comparison and the trim and throw on the front shifter is perfect.

I have a 9-speed group. It's not bad, I actually prefer the shifter feel over my Red shifters, but it does feel clunkier than SRAM and the throw is longer.

However I got a full groupset, wheels, seatpost, saddle, bars, and stem for the price of the Red shifters alone, so I'm happy.

I had it on my bike and will agree the throw in shifting to the big ring is pretty substantial, but overall it did get the job done

My wife likes them a bit more than her previous Tiagra 9 speed which broke. Shes not in to bikes in the least, she has no idea what Microshift or Shimano means but she would take the Microshift over the Tiagra any day of the week. I like them myself as well.
