Crank question (Force vs. Slk)

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Crank question (Force vs. Slk)

What do you think about the positives/negatives between the SRAM Force and the FSA SL-K Light cranksets?

I can get them for around the same price, so I'm more interested in performance (i.e., stiffness) and durability issues. For example, I've read about FSA's 2008-09 cranks having issues with drive-side crank arm loosening. Has this issue been resolved?

Really appreciate all feedback. Thanks!

I've never had a great FSA crank. The Gossamer I had shifted poorly, wore chains out prematurely, and both chain rings went kaput after not that many thousand miles. The Omega I replaced it with wasn't any better.

I've used an FSA-made Cannondale Carbon SI Crank for nearly 6 years with zero issues.

My wife's old bike had a Gossamer Crank. It worked fine, though it was very heavy and a triple.

I have a Force crank on my cross bike. It works great.

So, I guess you are pretty much good with whatever you choose.

FSA tends to be a little heavy compared to reported weights, but I think they fixed the problems they had a few years ago.

Bikes: 2009 Cannondale CAAD9-?

SLK is hotter.
But Force is the preferred crankset.

I've used both and couldn't tell the difference.

Haha the SL-K is definitely HAWT! And the white K edition would look ultra nice on my white Tarmac Pro... But the Force is also nice, so this is going to be a toss up...
