magura did it for cantilever studs

i am pretty sure someone in the late 80s or early 90s made some hydraulic road brakes but the name escapes me. maybe it was magura as well.

Real Cyclist has crazy deals on all SRAM cranksets right now too. I just picked up an S900 crankset minus the BB for $159. They are going for $250 on eBay. They are definitely trying to reduce their inventory in preparation for something...probably tax reasons or something though since we are nearing the end of the year. Don't companies get taxed on their inventory or something along those lines?

For what it's worth…I am not a fanboy, but I am a masters racer so I felt the need to attack ;)

Hey, no hard feelings. Much respect for you racing at all. I'm a youthful 24 and I don't even race. I'm not too shabby, but by the sound of it I'm sure you'd have no problem dropping me. I'd love to start, but I was lucky (or unlucky depending on how you view it) to find a great job right out of college. I spend most of my time working and being exhausted. Between work and my girlfriend, I don't have as much time as I'd like to dedicate to riding. I start a new position next year with a much more consistent schedule and less stress, so I'm praying that I can find a way to train more and get into racing.

I was going to point him towards looking at the setups that Pantani used. Riser stems, very little drop...it cracks me up how people that really have no idea what that are doing defend what they are doing.

If you were any more arrogant, you'd be botto, but you'd never approach his style.

I don't see botto around here much anymore. He was one of the few people that actually knew what they were talking about. Probably why he's essentially disappeared.

I still, to a certain extent find the ThinkTank amusing.

I'd assumed that pic was taken in Austin due to the ash junipers in the background.

I noticed that all the metadata is missing from that image. Normally you have camera model, f/stop, and all that stuff in the file details. I am not much of a botanist so I had no clue about the trees. :D

Heh - I'm no botonist either but ash junipers are notorious around here especially to people who are allergic. :) They're mostly found in central TX.

I'll bet there will be improvements such as quieter, smoothing rear shifting, and a sturdier front deraileur cage to improve front shifting. Also, 1/4 weight savings. Just these improvements would be substantial, IMHO.

You can see they did away with the cut off teeth in the rear cassette.

I ran into one of the founders of SRAM that goes by his initials at a bar in Chicago last night. He said he could neither confirm nor deny *wink* a February 2012 release date.
