Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nice. Now FLIP IT AND SLAM IT! Well, at least for the photo shoot anyway. And put the chain on the big ring on the front and small cog in the back. Oh, and pedals at 30 degrees. Oh, yeah, and take out those bottles. At least for the photo that is.

Seriously, nice bike. Congrats.

Great choice...I've got the Synapse Carbon 5 and love it. I'm as excited about my bike as my 10 year old is about his MTB! Ride it hard and have fun.

Clipless pedals are not going to happen for a while, as I've reached my spending limit per my wife
Just interested, you are new to road talk but you have 1,750+ posts. Were on another BF forum previously?

By the way, I started riding about 15 months ago. Upgraded to new bikes three times. Each time it rained hard the day I brought it home.

I'm a die-hard C&V (Classic & Vintage) rider, and that's where I post on BF. The vintage bikes don't have these threadless stems so there is no flip it and slam it like everyone here talks about. Also, most of us C&V riders do not have our bikes set up for an aggressive riding position, we tend to keep the bars about 1" lower than the saddle.

I've been ridding road for 40 years and the newest bike I own is a 1972 so I doubt I'll be buying a new bike very often LOL. I think there is a lot of younger folks over here, than the crowd I deal with in C&V...... I've really wanted to try a new bike for a long time, and see what all the hype was about, and so I have. I really enjoyed the bike on the original test ride which was about 15 minutes. During our good weather season I ride about 100 miles per week, and may be able to increase that number with this new bike.

I'm very excited to get this new bike out and for a good test run.

So for you to see where I've come from, this has been my go to bike so it will be a huge change for me. Two VERY different machines!

How about the comfort level of the ride on the Cannondale Capecodder? Have you had a chance to ride it far enough to tell how much of a difference there is?

I have not had a chance to ride it other than the 15 minute test ride, as I just picked it up yesterday morning and it's been nothing but rain since. I can ride 50 miles on my vuntage bikes in complete comfort, and hope to be able to do the same on the Cannondale.
