Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks it's very fun. I did 80 miles on my road bike yesterday and got on that later and it was a blast! Felt like a kid!

Picked it up a few weeks before Christmas. To: Me. From: Me.
I just started road cycling this past spring and got hooked. Looking forward to lots of miles in the coming years.

Thanks.

She will love it. Not sure if they are making the Hula in 2012 for I bought the last one in the states. That is if your wife wants the Hula and not just that style.

Got an Ultegra 6700 cassette, a new RD, and a new chain. Now all I need is the matching ultegra crankset and I am in business.

Forgot to post that my Dad got us a second Yakima bike tray and two wheel forks for the car.
Now we can put both bikes up top and still have room inside the car.

My wife got me a set of zipp 404 clinchers. I have put about 100 miles on them (she gave them to me earlier since she would kill me if I rode on Christmas day). What a good woman.

Nice stand, have the same one. Be careful of over-tightening the bolt at the extension tube- easy to ruin.
Also I never clamp down on the top tube but use the seatpost. Post is also carbon but would rather replace it than a bike frame

Blessed by a wife that loves to ride, and understands my love for the ride:
A long sleeve merino wool jersey
An REI Headwind Jacket
A 50+ jersey (ordered long ago, but we put under the tree for fun)

She got
A summer jersey (tri jersey, she likes the tan lines of tank versus tee)
Gore Windproof glove shells
REI L/S Jersey
Two Specialized Zee Waterbottle cages
50+ jersey

Nothing fancy, a merino wool hoodie and some reflective bands. I ride all winter long and in the dark so both items are appreciated.

Capo was my first nice set. REALLY liked them, but then tried the LG and thought they were even gooder! Though the LG stuff I have is all of their top notch stuff. I have heard their lower end chamois aren't that comfortable. I'm actually interested to see how these blue equipe bibs will do since it is a step down in chamois quality from the mondo set I have. We shall see!
