Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No, but you poor Dolphin fans need something to hang onto.

Hey, there's always the Giants. 1PM. Meadowlands.

I like the Giants in this year's post season. Why? Because nobody thinks they have a chance. Just like when they won the Super Bowl 4 years ago. Their defensive rush and secondary played great recently, their running game is back, Eli/Cruz is very dangerous, etc. The Giants are the sleeper team in the post season tournament, ergo the most dangerous. Green Bay is 15-1? Newsflash: nobody cares. it will be the next 4 games that matter.

The Packers, Saints, or even the 49ers can all make chopped liver of the Giants . . . eventually they must play one of them.

Works for me. At least my team has won a Super Bowl in the last decade. That was exactly what I thought about the Giants' chances four years ago. It worked then.

A Jet and Giant fan? OK.

I actually agree with you that the Giants are dangerous. More likely that they win at Lambeau than in the Superdome though.

Yep. I prefer the trip to GB rather than that infernal Whodat Dome. Tough game either way, and in the end I suspect any trip to the Show goes through New Orleans.

I will be rooting for Denver this afternoon because they have God on their side, and because that imbecile roadwarrior is a Pittsburgh fan.

Riding does help my back and shoulder and it's impact on my waist line is also a big plus!

To me the cost of nice bike is nothing compared to a midlife crises Vet.

I had two high school acquaintances in their early 50's die from heart attacks last week. That's another reason I ride that stupid bicycle 200+ miles every week. I may get hit by the bus, but I probably won't die of unexpected cardiac arrest on my couch watching the NFL.

One of my best friends from medical school and an avid cyclist had a heart attack and 5 vessel bypass 5 years ago. We did a lot of riding together pre and during med school. Hard rider. Caught up with him and he said he had quit cycling as he engaged in a busy psychiatry practice, gained weight and started smoking. I was appalled. Our choices are important in life. But he lived , lost weight and is now enjoying cycling again albeit at a much gentler pace.
