Need Help here! Thanks in advanced
Hi everyone,i am new to this sport, started with a Avanti Hybrid(not a decent one, but a fairly good one) being riding it in the past 7 months and really enjoy it so far. I use it for travelling to Uni mainly. So i have finally decided to get my first road bike, but since i never own one before i really have no clue what kind i should be looking into. So i really need your help
. Unforutnately my budget is low hoping to get a new one around $700-$1000. i did some googling myself, figured that if i wnat to go with the big names like Giant i could only get the TCR(2,3)and DEFY(3) series. So can anyone please give me some idea? out of these two series which one would be better for a starter in the long run? or any suggestion on other brands? (would be great if you can also list out the price
Thanks Thanks a bunch in advanced
Edit: i know defy3 is for the long distance, allowed a more relaxed body position, but also heard TCR series would be better for young ppl in the long term? a big why?

Id suggest visitin a local giant dealer or go around LBSs. there are good deals floating around, ask for specials on older models.
The mostl important thing is your new bike being the right fit. Lbs will usually be helpfull on this matter, but when between sizes plz go with the smaller size.

At the price range you are talking about there isn't much that could be said or done online. As someone who is starting into cycling you really need some hands on input and the best place to start is your local bike shop. Try to ride as many samples as you can. Make sure you test ride them in full gear and have the bike shop zoom in your fit as closely as possible with a bike. Don’t get fixed on a specific brand. Try different ones.

OP: get carbon or aluminum because they are both better than steel in every single way (presenting the opposing view).
