Recommendations for white bartape

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I realize few if any US roads look like Belgian cobblestones, but don't some pros use double tape or the super poofy Roubaix tape for rough events?

And your theory is that the tape doesn't help them, or is it that they have a poor fit?

+1 - For the white Fizik Microtex over cheap cork tape.

I ended up getting the Lizard Skins DSP 2.5 tape. What a PITA to install. Since it can't be stretched, its a real chore to get it to lay smoothly around the bends. The so-called sticky strip in the middle isn't sticky at all, so it was challenging to hold the strip for the brake lever area while wrapping the main strip around so that it didn't lump up without stretching the tape. I finally got it installed nice and (mostly) neat though. Will test it out in the next couple of days when I have time to ride. This is only the second time ever I have installed my own bartape, so it is not perfect, but it looks pretty good.

I use the "super poofy" Specialized Roubaix tape (in white) and it is very comfy and it cleans up well with 409 spray cleaner. It is also very durable and lasts a long time.

That's what is on my wife's Dolce. It's great tape, but doesn't have a grippy feel especially if you're riding barehanded and get a good sweat.

Why white? I wipe dirt on my gloves and then give the drops a good squeeze to make it seem like they get as much use as the hoods.

For the same reason you'd wash and wax a car. Looks great after you do it but you know it's going to get dirty again.

Cinelli gel and Deda both make excellent white bar tape.

Question? I just got a new Colnago with white bar tape on it. The bike is white with red accent lines and I couldn't help thinking that the white tape would look like crap in a week or two. I like the way the white tape looks on the bike, but had them replace it with red tape because of it. The guy at the LBS said that along with the Lizard Skin tape, that Zipp makes a really good, washable bar tape and is less money than the Lizard Skin, easier to apply and seems to last longer. Has anyone used the Zipp white tape and if so, what is your opinion?
