Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

OK one of the guys has a GPS and said it was only 48.2 miles. With 2900 feet of elevation.

In case anyone is curious, here is a link to our route: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/984833

So I got what I think is my first ever warning from a police officer this evening. Went through a stop sign without stopping. Actually, two of them.

He was a bit gruff, but not a jerk. Most importantly, he did not issue a ticket.

NBCS full-time ticker is something I do not like. I should learn French or Italian so I can enjoy their coverage of the Paris-Nice. I only know about 100 words of Italian and maybe 40 of French, though.

I did find it interesting that an Italian presenter pronounced 1t4i in English.

all you have to do is directly insult other members 5 times in a row until you get the proper number of infractions.

or go into a thread, troll in that thread, and then admit that you are trolling in that same thread (aka "i'm just trolling" or "i'm just trying to get this thread locked")

i'm just here to help.

Posting content from a PM has a better ban rate anyway. Mods will generally put up with a modicum of abuse before booting you.

Did they give away any Tour de Taiwan tifosi gear. Like a funny hat so we can pick you out in the crowd on TV?

I finally understand this thread. The addiction is BF and this thread is a dumping ground for those wanting to up their post count. I was hoping I'd find a useful, post-retirement addiction here. Instead, I've had to postpone retirement. Thanks, guys.

i don't care about upping my post count. i just want to talk about something that doesn't involve helping noobs because i already know everything there is to know about cycling and bike cycles and in between my 100 mile training rides on my $6,000 bike i need somewhere to go to talk smack.

nobody here cares about post counts since they keep deleting the threads

the addiction is cycling/schwag/training/suffering (not in any particular order)

I was typing a work e-mail today and was amused upon reviewing it that I had typed "droped". I corrected it as none of my co-workers are on BF.
