Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Trek Pilot 1.0 for $350?

https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/bik/2893283264.html

Comes with a computer and the same size clipless shoes that i wear...is this a pretty good deal? not looking for top of the line just a bike to get me under 200lb says the only thing it needs is a cleaning and maybe some new bar tape.

Decent price, about the best you're going to hope for at that price for anything reasonably recent production. I"m personally not a fan of the Sora shifters that the bike most likely has, but would be a good starter bike for you while you drop a few pounds and decide if you're going to stick with it.

btw, noticed this is off the dallas CL, if you're anywhere near Plano, look into the Plano Bicycle Association. We have lots of good rides Saturdays, Sundays, and during the week in the summer.

I was planning on buying a $500+ bike from bikesdirect but this one seemed to be close enough and included some goodies for a decent price, and i live in terrell texas so finding a CL bike close to me is a ppppaaain.

I'd ask how many miles are on it. "Ridden it a couple of times" is very vague especially since they've had it for a couple years. When I bought my first road bike off CL I just made sure wheel hubs were still good, frame didn't have any structural damage, and that the bike tracked well.
