Wow, what a wonderful, friendly and supportive crowd! I shouldn't even dignify the bulk of your replies with one of my own, but I will.
If I wanted to troll I'd start a CF vs Steel thread. I'd start a Campy vs. Shimano holy war, or brag how light my bike is and how much better it is than yours, how much faster than you it'll make me.
All I wanted was to see if some of y'all had funny little messages to yourselves on your bikes!
The "QUIT" in question is pedaling. Wasn't that obvious? Why else would I write something like that on a bike, on a place where I can see it no matter where on the bars I'm at? Unlike the one with "FAT ASS" sharpie'd on her bars, I'm directing the thought at myself, not passerby.
There are many legit reasons to cut a ride short. Broken equipment, a horrible headache, heatstroke, a bonk, etc -- But I shouldn't quit on a neverending headwind. I shouldn't quit because "I'm tired." I shouldn't quit because "I don't feel like it"
Some find it difficult to find the mental fortitude to not quit, to not surrender. I freely admit I'm one of them. To some, just waking up and making it to work is mentally akin to a half-hour hill climb. Some people struggle with problems that are not of the body, yet are just as crippling, if not more. That's why I picked up cycling again. I think it will harden my mind as well as improve fitness. It can only happen if I don't turn around after a few miles. It can only happen if this time I stick to the bike almost daily, and not give up on it yet again, leaving her to collect dust in the garage, as I've done so many times. Is any of this so hard to comprehend?! Is any of this deserving of your scorn?
I posted this in Road because of all the bikes I've tasted over the years, skinny-tired road bikes, old and new alike, are the ones that set my heart on fire, are the only ones that let me feel like I'm flying, not just trundling along bound to the ground. I've long felt road bikes are the most beautiful of all, the most elegant, the most purposeful. I wouldn't consider any other kind of bike. I thought I'd find kindred spirits in Road. I thought this forum dealt with road bikes, and the experiences and benefits that come from riding them.
I've misjudged badly, haven't I?

Don't let the guys get to you. Think of the attacks as, well, a warm welcome to the 41. I have a road ID bracelet that says "attack the hill" and have a piece of tape on my TT that says "HTFU". Do whatever it is that motivates you, just be wary when you post on the 41 because I can guarantee you the trolls will come out of the woodworks to slam you (which is fun it and of itself anyway, so lighten up a little )

It doesn't seem that your "struggles" are really any more difficult than other those of most other people's here (you haven't provided any details that would lead readers to suspect otherwise). That is, you might not be as unique as you are assuming. (There are people here cycling with missing limbs.)
Be bothered less by comments people make.
HTFU applies to posting (as well as cycling).

Hmm… I think I enjoy cycling too much to need a reminder to keep doing it. Maybe I should make a sticker that says “go home, your wife misses you”

I wouldn't take anything here too seriously - we're just having fun. For many of us, that's what cycling is all about. Some people will relate to a topic like this and respond thoughtfully, some will take it as an opportunity to have some fun. That's how it goes - you just never know what you're going to get.

Never Quit...picking at it -until it bleeds and then maybe even pick at it some more. Some of us never quit

I think the best way this was done was with Cippolini's stem. I'll leave it as a link because it's borderline NWS.

I knew you would make it
If this thread were a movie, we would now see your bloodied hand, still holding the label maker, rising up from under the pile of rubble this conversation has created.

I'd say it gets better, but my mom told me lying was bad. Why, just a few weeks ago, I wasted over an hour of my life on a single post.
Get used to the trolls, and learn to pick out the nuggets of solid information and opinions.
I, for one, am hardly athletic. I really can't stand working out, so a little reminder might not be a terrible idea. Do what works for you.

Oops, I didn't realize the OP actually put that on her top tube.
I would've chosen a different device to make the label, but I get the message. There was something in Bicycling magazine recently where a female pro cyclist was talking about making a personal slogan like this.
