Just looking for some opinions on this bike.. It'll be my first Road Bike so just wondering what I should expect and if there is anything I need to replace immediately..

Could you educate us on what components are on this steed to begin with, i.e. Gruppo, wheels, cockpit, etc. Saves us the time of looking it up. We can better recommend what to trash or keep.

For your first road bike, you probably only need to replace those pedals with either SPD style pedals with Mountain Bike shoes, or go clipless pedals and road shoes. I prefer Speedplay zero pedals. But do this later after you've had some experience with the bike. It's a good entry level road bike with a good frame and reliable drivetrain. I rented one for a day and it performed very well. It shifted correctly and stopped when I wanted it to, the ride was more than acceptable and wasn't too heavy. Good choice.

Much Appreciated Palomar. I'll definitely look into getting new pedals if I'm not a fan of what they provide. It's really good to know that you liked it, sounds like exactly what I'm looking for. Something I can trust and work with while I get used to a different style of biking. Awesome.

I started with a Schwinn Fastback Sport. I enjoyed it quite a bit and got me through a lot. I've since upgraded to a new carbon fiber pony but she still has a spot in my heart. Her drivetrain is all clapped out but she's got some life in her still with inner city cruises to the local bicycle pub.

Would just like to thank you all for the responses.. Got it yesterday and took it for a ride today. Amazing how smooth it rides. Even though it's not top of the line technology, it's the perfect bike for me.
