Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Does this seem correct (in your opinion)?

Felt has a fork replacement policy(if someone should ever need a replacement fork) but they do not keep any replacement forks in stock.

Does that make any sense what-so-ever?

Where would you get a replacement fork if you should ever need??? Who makes a 50mm offset fork these days?

Correction: UPDATE
LBS called, I boo-booed the post.
Apparently, he was attempting to get a color matched fork from Felt, which are non-existant. I thought he meant no forks are available, period, when he actually meant that Felt had no replacement fork in the same color. In other words; our LBS is doing great!
He should have a replacement in soon, just won't be the same color, which is fine, as long as it's brand new. $175 retail.

Sounds like you should try to email Felt yourself. FWIW, I tried with no avail to get a replacement for my Cannondale fork and had to go after market, so I'm not surprised to hear your experience. If you had to go to a 45mm rake you probably wouldn't feel much difference as long as fork length is close.

^^^They will carry warranty stock only. To get one you need to go through the warranty process. AND it won't be the distributor that has the warranty stock. It will be the manufacturer/brand.

i'm not sure if you are aware, but your LBS is not Felt. they aren't is the back manufacturing goods for the brands they sell in their storefront. your LBS is not the one that has the fork warranty, the manufacturing company is, deal with them and get off your LBS's ass. now, if you bought it from them, they can probably deal with felt for you.

Felt had 50mm on clearance for about $150 bucks (1.2). I just checked and but not on the site anymore. Couldnt hurt to call. You can go to Roadbike review and ask Dave from Felt in the Felt forum. Enve makes a 50mm but its expensive. Good luck.

Wow, $150 for a fork, that's a deal! My LBS called, though(see correction above), he'll be able to get a replacement for $175, it just won't be colormatched, which is fine.

Glad it worked out! $175 is a great deal on a 50mm. When I was looking I was hard pressed to find any under $400. Felt's started about $300 and kept going down. Full carbon steerer too. Felt has the 43mm rake on sale for $83 now. They have a great special on the Devox carbon saddle too (Black). They started at $279 and are $70 now. 165g on my scale. Wife got me one for my b-day when they were $140. Took it off my "Z-85" and put it on the Scott. MUCH more comfortable than the stock Scott saddle. When Felt wants to dump something they do it good. Had no issues with my fork and seat so far.
