Picked up my new bike today!
Did my homework on what I thought would best fit my normal riding style, then took the advice of the guys in this forum and visited the LBS's in my area and decided on this one. A Specialized Secteur.
I know that in the greater scheme of things it's fairly ordinary, but it fits me and my old bones really well. I can upgrade components on it as I feel the need but for now I love it. Can't wait to get out on my usual Saturday morning ride now with it's long rolling hills.
Just please excuse the plastic platform pedals. I couldn't get one of my pedals off my old bike so they had to fit me with those. After I get the right ones on it they said to bring it back and they'd make any adjustments I might need.

Nice bike, don't apologize for it--looks great to me and probably better than my 8 year old Trek. Doesn't have to cost 7k to be a great ride!

In any case, I'd just bring both bikes to the dealer, they should be happy to take a couple minutes to remove your old pedals and install them on the newly purchased bike.

Lol. yep, I know that but that one side is locked up tighter than a fishes ass. I put some LPS on it so it'll be off in the morning. I will definitely post a review on it after a good shakedown cruise.

Hope you have many miles in front of you. Nice bike. Now lose the reflectors and dork disk.

Did an easy 20 miles this morning after yesterdays misery. Honestly I don't know if I could be happier with it. It's smooth, quick, handles great and fits so well. It's just spectacular. It powers up to speed so fast and easy. I don't know what else to say about it.
I'm not used to the more relaxed geometry of it because my old bike was way to big and had me stretched out so bad. Don't get me wrong, I like it, it just seems odd to not have to reach out for the bars. It's soooo nice. Now I can't wait for next weekend to put it out on the road on my long rolling hills route.

I bought mine a year ago (used, off Craigslist) and have been very happy with it. It just completed a 470-mile charity ride (with me on it). I'm a newish road rider "of a certain age" and was dreading the prospect of back trouble from the typical roadie riding position, but over 1500+ miles on this bike I've never had a single bit of back pain. Happy riding!
