Do I need an adapter to use a quarq gxp?
I have a 2011 Giant TCR Composite.
Giant says it has a "Shimano Dura-Ace" bottom bracket (https://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...site&Type=bike).
The bearings are pressed in to the frame leading me to believe this is what's called BB86 based on Quarq's website.
I know I need the Quarq GXP to work with this BB, but do I also need some type of adapter?

IIRC the left side crank axle is smaller than Shimano. You need a Sram specific adaptor for othe GXP cranksets but I can't say with certainty about Quark cranksets.
Adaptors for 86.5mm shells with 41mm cup dia specific to GXP are available.

If it is BB86, all you need to get is GXP bottom bracket BB86. (around $35-40)
My Scott Addict is BB86 and I have Quarq GXP which I have been using for last year or so. The only potential issue would be that the spider on Quarq do extend toward frame vs. normal crank a little and you might not have clearance (Scott Addict is in their list of possible incompatible model but mine did have enough clearance).
My Addict came with shimano bottom bracket (dura ace as well), I had to take it out using bearing remover, and press-fit the GXP on. That was all there was really.
Your situation should be exactly same as mine.

There is an issue with how the spider on the Cinqo Saturn extends inward with some of the new larger BB shells.
My FSA Team issue Cinqo Saturn doesn't work with Willier's BB386 BB shell, but the New Red Quarq does.
So I'd confirm with Quarq the right adapter piece, as well as the clearence for the spider at the BB.

You need a SRAM Gxp press in Bb for the frame BB86. Common and easy to get but you will need to press it in.
Being sponsored by Giant and dealing in Quarqs...I tend to know tese things.

Also, excellent Crit you put on in Elgin a while back. I really enjoyed it.
