Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Brake levers, shifters and pedals suggest a low-ish quality bike from the 1980s. Frame looks odd. Probably a clunker trying to look cool.

Just to clarify, avoid older bikes with stem shifters (should be on the downtube or bar-ends). And bikes with 'safety' levers for the brakes which are the extension reachable from the top, flat part of the bar also indicates a low end bike.

It's worth something. But the seller has priced it about $79 higher than I would pay for it.

What had me a bit curious is the way in which the pics are all taken to the dark side instead of standing with the light behind the camera. It could just be poor shooting skills, but along with the complete lack of decal makes me think stolen bike. I was sort of thinking along the likes of a prelude, etc box store bike with some old parts thrown on.

The bike is certainly worth $80 if all you want is a beater to ride around (and it fits you). If the tires/tubes aren't dry-rotted and everything works, it's a proverbial steal.
