Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Another STRAVA Question

It happened again tonight:

I went for a ride - started the GPS, hit the road, no problem.

Finished the ride, threw the bike in the car, and when I got home Strava thinks I did the last 10 miles at 65 mph.

Is there a way to "crop" the ride? I.e. can I cut a section off the end of the ride?

+1.

On ride page, on the right there's an "Actions" button that has a "Crop" option in the drop down.

You should have drove through some of the KOM segments at about 45 MPH.

But that is good to know. Unfortunately you can't crop garmin connect. As i do this all the time too.

You can crop garmin data... or at least i think you can split it and then delete one, but I haven't screwed that up in a long time so I forgot how I did it.

Im new to strava. If you just ride through one of the segments does it record your time for it? Or do you have to tell it that you are gonna ride that particular segment?

KOM = King Of the Mountains, basically it's means your the fastest in that segment, as its the title given for descents as well.

You just ride. If there's a segment on your route Strava plugs your time in automatically. You can also create your own.

You can use things like Fit File Repair Tool to import data then crop or split portions of it and repair the cumulative numbers before uploading to Garmin Connect.

You've just discovered how people win on Strava. Next time drive out a little slower to make it plausible.
