Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The real requirement should be spend no more than 10% of your bank balance. $100,000 for a $10,000 bike. I'm sure the OP would have to get a free to good home bike.

My real requirement is 1 mile for every dollar spent. Buy a $5,000 bike then no new bike until it has 5000 miles on it. My $3500 bike had 20,0000 miles so I felt OK buying a new one.

I can go with that rule on my road bikes. Not sure about TT bikes though.

What's retarted? Is that when you eat a fruit tart, pass it through your digestive system, and then re-form it into a crap tart?

I've seen a guy riding two bikes together (sitting on one while steering the other by the stem). Three bikes is something I've never seen anyone do before.

Technically, I think this is a lame, sarcastic, tangential extension thread, rather than a lame parody thread.

Your time would have been better spent on your bike instead of starting this stupid thread. I can't believe I even responded to this. I should be ashamed of myself for being sucked in, but I couldn't help myself.

I would say so, because I thought the other one was proceeding fairly pleasantly and was shocked and saddened when it was suddenly locked. So ****.

First off, what is a quark? Second of all, a Quarq is a pm. I have one (and a secone one on order) and I can assure you I am still going to ride whatever I want as is everyone that I know that rides.

I have often wondered how it is that every man loves himself more than all the rest of men, but yet sets less value on his own opinions of himself than on the opinions of others.

Means we're all relegated to riding bikes $2000 and under.

It also means that no one should spend more than $2000 for a bike, because if you qualify for a better one, it will be provided for you.

Also means I overspent by about $11,000.
Let's take an FTP poll, that should be entertaining.
