What is a fair price point for bibs? Shorts? jerseys?
Sadly, I have purchased a good new bib in years the last one I got was a nashbar bib on sale for $40 a year ago and it is pure crap. Thin lame lycra lost the elasticity good as an under garment but not GOOD. I do own better stuff but it is old an I new to get new.
Costs seem tobe crazy and all over the place....$60-80 for shorts to me is too much but I really do not know anymore.
Any ideas...I have w Velowear bibs that I luv but again old.

Aerotech bibs in the $50-$80 range are pretty durable. Check out the sales at Voler, the inexpensive ones go for $60 and gets higher from there. I have yet to be disappointed with Voler.

That's like asking what's the price range for a bicycle.
You can get crap for cheap and luxury for a lot. I think a nice set of Assos FI 13 S5 bibs will cost over $350.
That said, I think the "sweet spot" for bibs or shorts is somewhere in the $60-100 range. Jerseys are cheaper.

I've paid anywhere from about $20 to $40 for shorts, and $10 to $60 for jerseys.
My usual shorts are between about $30-$40 and my usual jerseys are between $10 and $30.

I buy all my stuff on sale and pay $25.00 for shorts and $20.00 for jerseys. However, you would need to live near the place where I buy them. My next choice would be to buy from Aerotech. I haven't used them but they get good reviews and their prices are good. I would like to try their Top Shelf shorts.

The last shorts I got from performance (Performance Club Shorts, I think) I was very satisfied with. They have fairly light padding are made of a relatively thin material. I can't even tell I'm wearing them when I ride which is exactly how I prefer my clothes to be. Personally I find that higher-end shorts with more substantial padding and thicker material are less comfortable for me.

I'm a big fan of PerformancE Elite and Ultra bibs.
Currently on sale for around $50 bucks. If you watch their website, you can sometimes snatch them up for even less. I think I paid $40 for my last set of Ultras.
