i was riding home hard. i bet you will feel pissed if someone passes you. if i was tire then i will go slower and i can understand if someone passes me.

SimonLee 08-21-12 10:18 AM

its like 5-10 degree slope for like 5-10 streets then the road is back to 0 degrees.

SimonLee 08-21-12 10:21 AM

most racing bike these days usually use a 56T chainring and maybe 11-26 cassette on the back.

Incorrect. Most race bikes these days use either a 53/39 or a 50/34 crankset and whatever cassette is appropriate for the course.

Unless I have a number pinned to me I couldn't care less who passes me.

5-10 degrees is 8.5 - 17 percent grade. Very steep. I can't quite put my finger on why, but I'm just not trusting your quantitative analysis.

One of the best threads in a long time. I don't come to BF for the info , I come for the psychos that this sport attracts ... BF Classic in the making

I'm just a little confused as to why you didn't drope the hamer and dial it up to 400W?

Pace bike? Your forks are backwards.

But I bet you need that to absorb the force when braking, so you don't bend them!

Me? I was on my ten-speed Huffy Mt. Vernon* the other day, pedaling about 230 rpm in the hardest gear up the MUP's last three-mile 48% grade. I'd just smoked my second Mustang of the day. Blew their dang doors off! But then some jerk came by on a kid's tricycle and almost knocked me over when she passed. She was pedaling so fast I couldn't even see her feet! So no, I don't know what kind of shoes she had on. She didn't say, "On your left!" or anything! She just blew past going about 93 miles per hour. If I hadn't already ridden 67 miles up hill barefoot in the snow both ways to school, I would have drafted her until I got close to home.

*My actual crap bicycle lol ...

Incorrect.
And there are few who can push a 56...

And finally the only time I care if someone passes me is when I have a number on my jersey and there is a finish line in sight...

SimonLee 08-21-12 11:26 AM

wow amazing. lol. Now, i'm still trying to find out if she was able to spin out a very high gear ratio. most ppl around my area spin out only low-med ratios.

SimonLee 08-21-12 11:27 AM

Riding with 56T but maybe she was on a 18T or 20T rear cog?? but yea i understand if she is on a 11-13T lol. I don't think pro racer can use the 11-13T cog for a long time.

More likely you are just wrong about the 56.

Dolamite02 08-21-12 11:28 AM

rkwaki, who let you out of the 33?

SimonLee 08-21-12 11:29 AM

wow that's a crazy chainring. where did you get that chainring? freshly home-made?

SimonLee 08-21-12 11:31 AM

so what size 51-54T then? it can't be less than a 48T that's the biggest size or standard than comes with mountain bike.

Take the leash off the dog and watch out...
When the 33 slows down, my ADD kicks in and I go looking to P-A-R-T-Y!!!!
