If you pass one of them you better have a number on yourself. Otherwise, you are interfering with a race which is seriously frowned upon.

Besides, if you were dropped that easily by a girl you won't have a chance with with a real racer.

I have a 34/50 on my Colnago, a 34/50 on my Fuji, a 46/34 on my Redline CX bike, and a 53/39 on order for my BMC tt bike.

SimonLee 08-21-12 11:44 AM

lol. but what if they were just outside riding by themselves. and if they had just finished riding and was tire they probably wouldn't care as much. hehehehe.

you're right lol. now it makes me want to try harder. :thumb:

SimonLee 08-21-12 11:45 AM

what gear ratio you use a lot with the 53/39 and the 50/34 for spinning? and your cassette are what 11-26?

For just spinning I use whatever gear feels good. I have six or seven different cassettes, 12-25, 12-27, 11-25, 11-27, 11-28, it all depends on where I'm riding. This weekend I will be using a 50/34 crankset with an 11/28 cassette. The first 75 miles of the ride will have a couple of decent climbs, the final 8 miles is uphill with the final 1.5 miles being a steady 12%.

SimonLee 08-21-12 11:52 AM

so what would be the middle gear of a 11-25,11-27, and 11-28 cassette?

It's a trick question. There is no "middle gear" on a 10-speed cassette.

What Shimano really needs to do is come up with a cassette with a 15 1/2 cog, because that would be the awesomest gear ever.

SimonLee 08-21-12 07:39 PM

so how does the cassette go up by what # like 11-25 is 11t, 13t, 15t, 17t, 20, 23, 25 lols etc then it jumps to even Teeth cog?

The urge to troll is strong in this one. The attempts are weak.

What you probably witnessed was a dual drive multi chain-ring hybrid drive race bike with a helmholz motor. Very astute of you to pick it out by the chainring size alone. Most people don't catch that but you may have also noticed a whirring noise as she pass you. This is the motor kicking in. People generally use batteries disguised as water bottles and have a button on the stem which turns it on and off. Very crafty use of new technology. You were doing great to keep up as long as you could up against that machine. I'll be she didn't even look like she was working too hard.

SimonLee 08-21-12 09:15 PM

lol. maybe. but the area i live in don't see much people riding bike with motor unless i live in a area with lots of restaurants then i see a lot as delivery man riding bike with motors are really popular here in nyc.
