roflmao i think you need some assistance. how about your tandem bike against my freshly home-made uni-cycle. :thumb:
P.S. Just because you can spin a wheel while making "swoosh" noises, doesn't mean you have a unicycle. |
40 mph?
I'm proud if myself if I am doing 40 km/h. If I see someone zipping past me at those speeds I wont even try to catch up. Not even on my road bike, and definitely not on a "hybrid single speed". I'd also convince myself it was a pro in a wig trolling other riders lol. |

But yeah, considering I do 32 in my 50x14, some fixie in a 48x whatever wasnt doing 30mph, even at 120RPM... we're all feeding the trolls |
I don't think we're "feeding the troll" here.
I think this is a case of "OP is a small child". The OP referred to a woman in her late twenties as "too old", so that was a dead giveaway. Didn't we all, as small children, think we rode uberfast? |
Oh, was she in her late 20's? i missed that bit. If so then yeah, i guess you're right. Just used to the roadies quoting speed from their comp readout, but esp. if it's a youngster, they wont have a comp.

One ride earlier this year had me really working to maintain 15 mph against a headwind. I was cruising easily at 30mph on the way home.
On a different ride, but same wind situation I actually had a guy on a motorcycle pull up next to me to compliment me on my speed. "Do you realize how fast you're going?" he said. I lol'd. Gotta love Florida/A1A and tropical storm winds. |

Riding with 56T but maybe she was on a 18T or 20T rear cog?? but yea i understand if she is on a 11-13T lol. I don't think pro racer can use the 11-13T cog for a long time.
Overcoming the language barrier, you were riding at 30MPH (48km/h) and you were passed by a female that you claim was riding 40MPH (64km/h), who may or may not be riding with clipless pedals and who may or may not be riding a 56T chainring. Let's say someone was riding at 40MPH, the following link http://www.oocities.org/mdetting/sports/cycling.html would suggest that you need to output something close to 1400 watts to sustain that...that's 1.4kW and close to 2hp. That person is either the Hulk or he/she's so juiced they'd snap the bike in half. So I am sorry, unless you have a computer saying how fast you were going, and a radar gun showing how fast she is, you are just trolling. The other bit is, going 48km/h, how are you able to see something that's travelling 64km/h? Unless you were close enough to smell her sweat, tooth stamping is usually the size of a healthy kernel and her cadence would be somewhere in the range of 180rpm or more. Are you Superman? (ps. we know you are not, you can save yourself having to argue out of that one) Furthermore, there is no such thing as a 11-13T. So in conclusion, please stop drinking the Koolaid. |

Is this the heir to the heir of RyanF?

When I was a kid, I saw 50mph on my cable-operated Schwinn speedometer on a downhill in town. In retrospect, there's just no way.

Also, if you put a computer on a kids bike, but leave the default wheel setting for a 700c wheel, you can double your speed !

guys i was going like 22-25 mph rode 60 streets in 10 mins.
|
I am familiar with miles, kilometers, even furlongs. But how long is a street?
|
0.06-0.07miles
|
Now I officially call shenanigans. I think 17-20 nyc blocks is a mile so about 3 miles with traffic, stop lights, and peds would not take 10 minutes.

Man, I've been gone from this forum for way too long.
This thread makes me happy I came back. Also makes me sad now that I know Brandy isn't around...And makes me wish I had joined the forum earlier to be around for the RyanF and R600DA stuff. Oh well. Winter's coming. There's bound to be plenty of great threads around. |
actually about 15 streets is 1 mile and some streets here are longer than other streets.
