Modern (Frame) Love
I currently have several parts on order to upgrade an old Fuji touring bike. I am running into a few difficulties that I should be able to overcome, but if I cannot, I may look to a new frame (since I will already have a good selection of parts). Looking at past posts, I am certain that If I mention the desire for a non racing geometry here, I will get cries of "Grab an older frame off ebay or Craigslist!", but if my CURRENT older frame is causing me problems to upgrade, I would be fearful of trying it again on another older frame.
What nice modern non racing frames are out there that I could easily get in my size (say 58cm) now? I don't mind paying hundreds of dollars, but thousands would be expensive. Hopefully I won't need to buy one, but if I do I want to be prepared.
Thanks!

Surly, Soma and Salsa all put out nice non-race orientated bikes, I would start there.
