When I worked in the bike shop I could spot 99 out the 100 bars which were taped by our customers or by junior mechanics.

Anybody can do it, but not everyone can do it right

Haha, QFT. Wrapping bar tape is a challenging as drawing stick figures.

And the only difference is the LBS guys have done it more times than the customers. It's not a special skill.
