SPD SL Cleats - Centering Float

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

SPD SL Cleats - Centering Float

Does Shimano only offer the red fixed float and yellow 6 degree float cleats? What bugs me about the yellow cleats that HAVE float is that the float is still centering. It seems to defeat the purpose of having float if the cleat self centers itself anyways, because it requires the same precision as a fixed float cleat as far as positioning goes, because the float isn't really "usable."

Any way around this? I've been growing more and more annoyed with my cleats and their self-centering...

Should I just switch to speedplays already?

Not that I know of, although from what I understand Looks aren't self-centering.

I switched from Speedplay's to SPD-SL and have gotten used to everything except for the resistance in the float.
