The cult of SCOTT

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I ride a Scott and always thought the CAAD threads were pretentious and self-serving.

Bikes: Scott CR1 Elite

Definitely not a cult, more like a sect of wingnuts.

My fredded up Scott CR1 Elite. For a stock bike it is a very nicely equipped machine! I really like the SRAM Rival.

I think there is a Scott Owners Thread or something like that.

Anyway, I have 2 Scotts.

Road bike

TT bike - this is when I first got it before I slammed it and cleaned up the front end, so it's not quite as messy now, but I don't have a picture.

That looks great with Zipps...

Here's mine...it's had a few changes since the pic...mainly new post/saddle since the AX stuff was scary creaky. Still under 10lbs as it sits...

That is one nice looking bike. My take is:

If you want quality carbon, go Scott.

If you want cheap aluminum, go CAAD.

^ Are you saying all aluminum bikes are "cheap" or just the CAAD?

Aluminum bikes in general.

Carbon is a much better ride, but more expensive.
