I realized this about 2 minutes before I saw the trash truck roll by the house. Oh well.

You should mark that on your 2019 calendar so you won't make that mistake next time.

Haven't heard that one since I stopped listening to Dr. Demento.

We picked out a tcr composite with tiagra. i wanted to get the tcr advanced with 105 but that was over his price range. the composite frame is plenty good and eventually he can replace the tiagra over time. its the frame that matters and i've ridden tiagra and it is very good.

price came in at about USD1300.

Seems like a lot of money for what it is. At the $1,300 +/- price point you can get a get a Cad 10 105.

I will remain a lonely curmudgeon before even considering the thought of online dating. It may as well be a blind date in a world where time machines do not exist. Oh wait, they don't - only online would anyone think even a 5 year old picture would suffice. Especially when we reach that certain age.

As an example, I am really not a knight as my avatar might suggest.

With cell phones I have stopped wearing a watch.

With cell phones I have stopped wearing a watch. I do like the light weight of Titanium and don't understand why high end watch don't use it?

coasting 12-26-12 09:11 AM

seems you have to choose frame material or groupset. i think carbon is better.

Oh, coaster. You have truly lost touch. The online 'us' is insane. In person we are patent clerks and phone operators and insurance salesmen. Wait, is it still 1938?

Never. I don't feel seeking out a girlfriend is necessary. I have faith that eventually the right one will come a long. It's not something I want to preoccupy myself with, and have to sift through a sea of psychos online. Besides, I have plenty of options already.

I put my trash at the street at 5am today. Nobody else had theirs out there. We are a Tues. pickup as well.

Cheap carbon tends to be heavy.

wtf are you talking about? YOUR cross bike (which is the only bike you seem to ride lately) is Aluminum!

Our team changed shop/bike sponsors which meant moving away from caad 10 framesets. The shop had a comparison of the TCR frame to the Caad 10 frame in a number of stiffness tests and I think weight. As I recall the giant won almost all the categories.

The Giant lacks BF cred though.

CF>Ti>Al>Steel

This is true for almost everything from bikes, to cars, airplanes....

Herbie53 12-26-12 09:24 AM

BillyD 12-26-12 09:31 AM

You guys are absolutely incorrect about online dating. I met the current Mrs BillyD online, and she is the best thing that ever entered my life. She's got brains, looks, a sense of humor, and can cook like a chef - the whole package. An absolute winner . . . I should have met her 25 years ago, would have saved myself a lot of grief.

And she's not the only one, there's a couple others I sifted through because I wasn't ready to get serious too soon, but they were well qualified in all the important areas.

You could do a lot worse than online dating. Sure, you have to be patient and filter through a lot of losers, but the gold nuggets are there for the taking. And wtf, the filtering process isn't so bad either if you know what you're doing. Maybe I should set up a class - Online Date Filtering 101.

It would seem that you have a better chance of meeting the right person on line since you are able to use criteria.

Local bike groups/clubs also seem like a great place to meet people interested in cycling.

I take exception to sea of psychos comment the plump one is a psycho. Anyone that is part of this 41 might be considered crazy.
