Winter Training Plan
Been looking at coaching plans for the next three months or so, and I've looked at Trainer Road, CTS, and Graeme Street. Right now I want to ask about the CycloCore90 probram that Graeme Street offers. Has anyone used it? supposedly its a 90 day plan that utilized about 6 hours a week training with videos. CTS is the only one of these three that offer interaction with a live coach weekly, but with the cyclocore you do the videos, and he has pod casts and interaction on the web site as well.
Anyway, there may be better training plans for about the same period of time, and if anyone has suggestions, I'd like to know about them. what i do like about the cyclocore is that it's $99.00. Can't beat the price. Anyway, if there are suggestions or feedback, i'd appreciate it.

I haven't used Cyclocore, but I can't imagine a situation where Trainerroad doesn't far exceed Cyclocore.
Probably better than the other ones as well, mainly because you're training with power, with appropriate levels tailored to your ability.
These Trainerroad plans are legit:https://www.trainerroad.com/cycling/plans
At first I thought the Int Build 1 would be too easy on volume (<6 hrs per week) but turns out that it's pretty good for the offseason. The quality absolutely makes up for any lack of volume in this plan. During non-winter, I normally ride 70+mpw with 4000ft of climbing every Sat, but I have to admit that the TR 90-120 minute workouts are probably just as good in terms of training load. Riding at steady state subthreshold for 60 total minutes might not sound that hard, but when you actually do it, you have to focus. Crank it up to threshold and it's a real buttkicker.
I honestly didn't expect to actually follow a TR plan, but when you get the great metrics, and you see all the hard work you've put in (it stores all your workouts and PRs) its very motivating to keep up the work. Especially since you get objective TSS scores for training load as well as intensity - takes the guesswork out of ramping up your workouts.
It's the best $10/month I've spent on cycling, bar none. If you've never trained with power before, you're in for a real treat. If you have trained with power, I think you'll still be surprised with how good the workout structure is - I've never had such time efficient cycling training, ever.

Thanks,
I agee TR is good. I'm doing the Intermediate Build II plan now, and it can be tough. just wondering if there was something better.
