I think that people do enjoy it... so much so that they feel that their choices in toys are a reflection of themselves (and to a certain extent, this is true - our buying decisions are unique to us, shaped by our values which are shaped by our experiences); when someone comes along and questions their decisions in toys, many people take offence because they see it not as an attack on the thing, but as an attack on the decisions that lead to purchasing the thing and the reasons for their enjoyment of the thing.

54 miles on the single speed. I don't think it has hit 45 deg yet. New wheels were nice. Reduction in freewheel cog size and general lack of cycling fitness were not.

It's shot up to 31 F here, guess I should commence to riding 'cross the tundra.

Kinda wish I had grabbed my fixed geat but rollin' the roadie again.

Supposed to dip to 20 F tonite - At least it aint rainin.

Bikes have a section of the basement.

Settling in is going slow. Moved in a couple days before Christmas, so family stuff knocked out a few days of productivity. Shortly after Christmas, I came down with some kind of bug that knocked me out for a few more days. Before I could recover, we embarked on a 10-day road trip out to VA and back. Long story short, we've owned the house for 3+ weeks, but have effectively had about 4-5 days worth of work to put in. House looks like a bit of a battleground at the moment, but we're getting there.
