He also sings, has either relative or perfect pitch and his teacher has been helping him write songs. Not your normal 5 year old.

Very cool. Just be sure he stays out of the music biz, he'll be happier. Great hobby. Terrible career.

The musicians I know seem pretty happy.

Impossible way to make a living. You're better off becoming an aerospace engineer and playing in bar bands on the weekend.

This...

Did it, loved it, but no way to make a good living and have solid quality of life.

Now that is funny. I'm still a bit afraid of the stray dogs on my ride though. Maybe should imagine them wearing an octopuss.

For every person making a solid living doing music there are 100+ trying to make a full time living and not succeeding very well. I suppose you might never know unless you try.

Happily I have no such illusions. You're better off not having more talent, the more talented you are the more you might want to give it a go.

I asked about eating dog. Apparently it is illegal. Shame.

I'm an aspiring actor, by the way.

Phil Emery thinking he's smarter than everyone else in the NFL. Maybe he is.

I saw Bonamassa in 2003 here in Colorado Springs for $5. No one showed except me, a handful of friends, and some stragglers from the street. We all stood at the front of the stage where he dripped sweat squeezing every ounce of soul and blues from that guitar. He signed T-shirts and CD's afterward to make ends meet on the tour. He put on one helluva show, but was struggling. Now he's all that and even played Albert Hall.

To contrast, there's a local kid here named Jake Loggins. He is every bit as good, if not better than Joe B. technically, and has a better voice, yet he has to maintain a day job while still playing sports bars and taverns at night to make it by. His dad was a session player for Percy Sledge and the likes.

Goes to show how true Pcad's statement is.

Go find some Jake Loggins on YouTube. Great stuff, but mind-blowing live.

We're headed south to Albany on the south coast where the temps are up to 15 deg cooler.

Only 15 minutes, and we'll be on the way to Vancouver Airport... we're already missing the place.
