This is akin to Trail Ridge Road washing out, in your world.

I'm sitting here in my bike racing bib. Never rode today. I draw the line @ freezing drizzle. Good grief.

LesterOfPuppets 01-16-13 02:50 PM

Yeah purple majesty!

This made me laugh hard:

#3400? Or was there something else?

clichty 01-16-13 02:59 PM

My #3400 is still here, but I didn't see another Prince post.

LesterOfPuppets 01-16-13 02:59 PM

Ahhh, still there. Getting around in here on a fone is a real *****.

Speaking of songs I got lucky yesterday and was able to snag some Prince tickets for a show in Minneapolis tonight. Sold out in about 5 minutes. It's an open tryout session for Prince's band's new drummer, so no idea what witnessing that is going to be like. Either way its freaking Prince, so it's gonna be awesome.

Enjoy it. Ask him for some pancakes.

Just rode by a gaggle of roadies wearing my shorts in 35 F. They were all shaking their heads at my stupidity.

Of course I was hammering away in the 53t so maybe they was skeered.

Haha yeah, it is just going to be a little bit of a jam session and maybe Maroon 5 will show up? Super strict rules though, its nuts. Can't even bring a cell phone into the club. If you get caught with one, you get booted immediately and can't re-enter. Definitely leaving it in the car.

Can you damage a car driving through water?

I came upon this low spot which is now a small pond. There was a sign that said "Road Closed," but some cars ahead of me ignored it. And in a moment of insanity I plunged right through.

Depends on the car and how deep the water is. Was your car running afterward? I would just make sure that in runs long enough to dry out the engine compartment and any water that may have gotten in the exhaust.

Honda Accord. I don't know how deep. It didn't stall out, fortunately. I only continued driving about 2/3 of a mile afterward. Should I run the engine a bit longer?

patentcad 01-16-13 03:35 PM

I thought he meant my Prince of Paramus post.

You're likely ok. (Lucky, but ok.) Cold water + hot engine can get very messy. Especially if water gets sucked into the intake.

That was an hilarious skit.

Velo Vol 01-16-13 03:43 PM

It was just a short distance (~5 seconds?), there was no threat of being washed anywhere, but in hindsight may not have been the smartest thing.

I'm such a daredevil.

RichinPeoria 01-16-13 03:51 PM
