Just stopped by there (got some gloves). They haven't sold out of those Livestrong helmets yet.

I still have one of his jerseys. But it was when he moved to the Kjngs

That' 95-'96 season (featuring Deader) was awesome. That Wings rivalry was something that kept the off-season interesting and was absolutely responsible for the huge draw at the bar on Avs/Wings game nights in '97.

To this day, there is little made of the incident that precipitated the Lemieux hit on Draper. While it was nasty, it was not what instigated the escalation. Slava Kozlov slipped by the refs a cross check on Adam Foote that drew significant blood. Lemieux's hit on Draper was retaliation.

And then the goalies fought. I think Roy won both vs. Vernon and Osgood, but they were close.

Man, I'm excited for hockey.

Deader should donate his brain to science.

Look out for the Hawks this year.

Snuck out for a ride during nap time. Flatted. Pulled out my spare tube... nope, bad tube that I had forgotten to replace the last time I'd flatted. Pulled out the patch kit... nope, rubber cement-y stuff was dried up. Walked a little less than a mile to the nearest bike shop to buy two tubes and a patch kit. Changed tube and rode back the **** home.

I never had a jersey but saw him play a couple of games as a Portland Winterhawk in the glass palace, 1992-ish.

Correct.

WhyFi 01-18-13 03:55 PM

I can't believe that people are actually creating Strava segments on MUP that I was just on. WTF is wrong with these people?

LesterOfPuppets 01-18-13 03:56 PM

Hahaha!

(I've created at least 7 MUP segments)

-part of the problem

The Bears hired a coach from the CFL? wut

WhyFi 01-18-13 04:00 PM

:roflmao2:

There are some MUPs where I can see it... but on this loop it's just pathetic.

I had problems on the short stretch of MUP I was on earlier.

The snow/ice isn't melted in the shaded parts. I madly rode through the short patches anyway (my new-found daredevil persona took over) but I had to walk through a longer one (with one foot clipped in) like this:

Roadie action @ approx 2:10. Could it be that daredevil VV? Not enough jersey flapping, I think...

Saw this on the internet today, I would try it.

WhyFi 01-18-13 04:19 PM

I don't think that I've ever seen ice that clear.

Did you beat 'em?

No, but I have a goal for next time.

rjones28 01-18-13 05:09 PM

It's kind of funny to me. The last two seasons, I didn't even have a computer on my bike. Now I have a Garmin and a Strava account.

At least you got to work out your legs, elevate your heart rate, walk for a bit, maintain the supplies in your saddle pack, and learn a lesson.

Which reminds me, I need to get some winter gunk out of my tail lights.

Rowan 01-18-13 05:24 PM

Landed back in Australia yesterday afternoon after around 30 hours of travelling. Then went for a long walk that resulted in a moderate case of sunburn. WooHoo! Back in the land of the living sun!
